Based on the graphic novel Shimotsuma Story by cult manga creator Novala Takemoto, the rather misleadingly titled Kamikaze Girls convinces through strong performances and a captivating plot. Why, you get the madness that is Kamikaze Girls of course! The movie which is based off the novel by Novala Takemto is about the clashing of two completely different worlds and the crazy antics that occur. So having finished The Japanese title of the film and novel is Shimotsuma Monogatari, "Shimotsuma Story," and has nothing to do with kamikazes one way or another.
